So Super Circuit Sunday????
Yeah i know cheesy....
But hey I teach a circuit class a few times a week and for losing weight, getting lean muscle (without getting bulky ladies) and for staying fit, they simply work and they work well...!
So every Sunday I will blog about the circuits I do, some will be simple, some not so, they will all be effective!
Today's one comes from the Synergy class I teach at Exeter University on a Sunday, it's designed around the following exercises:
The format again was simple 4 rounds of the whole circuit with each exercise performed for a set time:
The whole circuit took 26 mins to perform with a 2 min warm up and a 2 min cool down at the end it is short simple and straight to the point.

Initially this quote can seem very pessimistic and maybe even downright negative...
The determining factor in whether the grindstone of life grinds us down or polishes us up seems to be determined by our perspective, which creates choice and then our actions based on what is happening in our lives.
We can quite easily see life as a problem and decide that something makes us feel stressed or overwhelmed. In this instance we have view life as grinding us down and we have to grind back. The downside to this is this activates our stress response of the 5F's (fight, flight, freeze, fornicate or food).
When you run this on a permanent basis, everything is reactive, you mistake emotions for fact and are literally out of your mind.
What about the other perspective?
To see life as a polishing stone, we can then begin to use life versus life using us.
In other words, as we choose a more purposeful perspective, we can have more influence over how we use the stone (life) and begin to create a vision not of the problem but the solution.
We literally make the choice on who we decisde to be at any given time in that given situation (btw this doesn't mean shit doesn't happen, it still does). You just decide who you are going to be in ANY situation "positive" or "negative".
Do that often enough and that becomes the default action....
One perspective means high stress, reactive poor choices and the associated poor health and weight gain that come with it.
The other means less stress, responsive good choices and the good health and weight loss that come as a buy product. The down side is this one takes more effort up front and there is a price to pay in terms of effort initially..
The thing is it can be simple to do!
We can ask ourselves questions like:
"Who do I want to be (or what qualities and/or characteristics do I want to practice) in response to this situation?
Do I want to be smooth or rough?
Do I want to spend my energy resisting the rough edges of the situation or in defining/smoothing out aspects of my character?
Do I want to focus on the problem or the solution, and do I want this solution to come from within or without?
Only you can decide this....
