Today I need to clarify something, the difference between self confidence and self esteem.
Confidence is specific to and outcome or a task e.g. I am confident I can coach I am not confident I can play the piano….
Self Esteem on the other hand is general and focuses on what you think of yourself; this comes down to do you love yourself, if you do it’s because you like and trust yourself and that is because you keep your promises.
So self esteem is your ability to keep your promises!!! That simple!!!
So when you have low / negative self esteem you simply aren’t keeping your promises… Well in theory, more than likely you may be focusing on the ones you break and ignoring all the ones you make so in order to boost your self esteem bank account I want you for the next 48hrs note every promise that you make yourself and WRITE IT DOWN!!!!!
Seriously every one; even if you say I am doing the washing up, go do it and yep that’s a promise, I’ll get in the shower and you do it, yep a promise…Start making a note of every one!
Let me know what you notice and how you feel in 48hrs….

Today is all about you identifying if and what your self-esteem is tied into?
What do I mean by that?
Well simple, are you looking outwards instead of inwards?
Does your sense of highest self depend upon something external to you?
E.G. your kids loving you, your partner loving you, how your body looks, how much money you have in the bank, etc?
Look I am not saying these can't influence how you feel, of course they can, I am asking does it depend on them?
So if your body looks good, you have money and your family love you then you feel good about yourself, right..?
Well what happens when you are in pain, get fat, are broke, and your family dislike you at that time...?
Simple, your self-esteem drops through the floor!!!!
If it is dependent upon someone or something when it goes (there are no guarantees that thing/person will always be there, life happens).
Then you will always be playing the self esteem roller coaster, surely it is better to bounce between 550,000 - 450,000 self esteem points than bounce up and down from +1,000,000 down to -1,000,000.....
So the task today is simple; answer the following for the thing or person both being there and also not:
What is my self esteem tied to?
What are my dominant thoughts about that?
Why do I feel that way?
What images are in my head when this happens?
What story am I telling myself around these?
Where does that story come from?
IS it really true?
How does this serve / not serve me?
