continuing on my series of Not feeling good enough is one that is tied into your Physiology.
much as I deal with the mindset stuff as well, if you are in pain then there is a level of Threat within your brain and body, if that is the case your body prioritises Physiology over Psychology as a survival mechanism,
In order to ReBoot that, we have to address the Physical systems first, before we address the Psychology.
There are 7 systems to ReBoot; the first being the breathing system (respiration).
When correct respiration occurs the Diaphram the muscle under the ribs contracts pulls down and presses against the internal organs and pushes the belly out (if you have kids that are 2-7 years old you'd have seen this when they get out of breath).
This in turn lifts the rib-cage and slightly elevates the chest. The vacuum in the lungs then draws air in. In turn the diaphragm then relaxes, the weight of the ribs and chest drops down and the abdominals contract to push air out of the lungs (exhalation).
But how does this make you "Feel S**T, Keep YOu Fat And In Pain?" like the title says?
1) If you are performing shallow breathing it sends a signal to the brain that you are going to die!
No i know you're not, and you know you're not but your brain is child like, if it gets that signal it slows everything down, the slower something the less energy and oxygen it uses, it's doing it's job to keep you alive.
Also, ever hyperventilated or been short of breath?
You're doing that to yourself on a smaller scale daily!!!
2) As mentioned above, process slow down, this requires less energy so you burn less = body fat storage.
You also don't massage the internal organs properly which means less digestive juices that in turn stops you absorbing food properly = fat storage.
3) The bain has a simple prioritisation system, lets say you are bending down to pick up the kids, it now has a choice get breathing muscles to fire by changing body position and muscle firing order or keep back stable in correct position but have no breathing muscles (remember to your brain this equals death).
So you are asking your brain to chose between pain and death????
No choice really!!
So that's it, now what to do?

Seriously set time aside even 5mins morning and night to practice this every day for a week and tell me how you feel at the end of it.
